The company manufactured the high-resolution camera module used on the KPLO. Green Optics, an optics company located in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, has 280 employees (230 in Korea and 50 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) who produce various optical products used in industries such as semiconductors and displays, as well as in the defense industry and satellites. The company covers the entire optical field, from light design and lighting design using light, to lens and instrument design, processing, coating, assembly, and evaluation of optical applications.
Since its establishment in 1999, the company has grown steadily to provide a one-stop service for all the processes required to produce optical products, which is rare in Korea. It also supplies optical components and systems to various domestic and foreign companies with 25 years of continuous research and development and unrivaled technology. The business areas are diverse, including satellite mirrors for aerospace, seeker dome and laser weapon optics for defense, optical systems for semiconductors and displays, and raw materials. Optical products are modularized into lenses, mirrors, filters, etc. Green Optics' business is expanding from precision products, defense industry, and space, and a significant portion of its profits are invested in space optics R&D.
