    Company Info

Lumir is a specialized company in the Earth observation satellite industry, and since its establishment, it has built robust technological capabilities through continuous research and development. Based on this, the company has secured numerous national space development projects, proving its technological prowess. Initially, Lumir successfully participated in national satellite development projects by developing image data processing units and onboard computers that control all electronic components of satellites, which were installed in the CAS500 series, as well as the space internet communication equipment installed on the lunar orbiter, KPLO. These products have garnered attention as the first domestically-produced satellite electronic components in South Korea.Recently, Lumir has grown into a satellite system-level contractor by securing the entire C-Band SAR system for the Korea Aerospace Research Institute's CAS500-5. Currently, the government is accelerating the development of the space industry by establishing the Korea Space Agency and doubling the space development budget from 730 billion KRW to 1.5 trillion KRW. Lumir aims to contribute to South Korea's emergence as a space powerhouse by leveraging its accumulated technological capabilities.Building on its recognized space development heritage, Lumir is targeting the commercial utilization of space in the New Space Technology era. The Lumir-T1 satellite, developed with the company's proprietary technology, was launched as a rideshare payload on the KSLV-Ⅱ third launch. It successfully completed space validation missions, including the first successful launch of a CubeSat by a private company, beacon signal reception, and the space utilization of commercial components.Lumir has been independently investing in the research and development of LumirX, a New Space Technology satellite based on the space utilization technology of commercial components validated by the Lumir-T1 satellite. LumirX is an ultra-high-resolution, ultra-small SAR satellite weighing approximately 150 kg. It has successfully achieved 0.3 m ultra-high-resolution image acquisition through aircraft testing, which is the final stage before space launch, boasting the world's highest specifications.Lumir plans to launch the first technology verification LumirX satellite in the first half of 2026, and subsequently launch additional satellites to establish a constellation system consisting of a total of 18 satellites. This system will provide Earth observation imagery and information globally, aiming to grow into a competitive player in the global satellite market.
